Surgery Update 6th August 2021

We are pleased to announce that Dr James Rich and Dr Dorothy Pradeep have joined the surgery as GP Partners. Dr Rich has taken over Dr Bird’s patient list and Dr Pradeep will take over Dr Spurgeon’s list when she leaves us at the end of the month to take up a position in New Zealand.

Dr Sunil Tailor has joined us as a GP Registrar and will be working alongside our GP’s for 6 months.

AGAIN DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ IN THE PRESS – NOT ALL SURGERIES ARE THE SAME = we have seen 1459 patients in surgery for face to face appointments over the last month. 69 patients did NOT ATTEND for pre-booked appointments!!

Pregnancy and covid – The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) recommend that pregnant women should be offered the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccination. Women can receive vaccine at any point in pregnancy, but are encouraged to do so as early as possible, to ensure maximum protection in the third trimester. Recent research supports Government advice to receive a follow-up vaccination eight weeks after the first.

Patients aged 17 years and 9 months and over are now included in the list of cohorts of those who are eligible for the vaccine and can book at a vaccination centre or turn up to a walk in site. Please search ‘grab a jab’ for nearby locations.

Patients aged 16-17 are due to be included shortly, we have no information on this roll out currently and you will need to wait for the Government announcement.
