Bank Holiday Closure
The surgery will be closed on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June.
We will reopen as usual on Monday 6th June.
If you require your medication before Monday 6th June, please request this before the afternoon of 30th May.
Thank you.
Dr Emily Taylor
Dr Taylor has now left to start her maternity leave, she will be away from the surgery for 9 months. The other GP Partners will cover her patient list during her absence, and we have regular locums who will help with the increased workload.
Blood Pressure Monitors
We have loaned several blood pressure monitors that have not yet been returned to the surgery. If you have one of these monitors please can you hand it back into reception as soon as possible – thank you.
Building Work
We are currently extending the surgery and building 3 new clinical rooms. Please be aware when attending that the car park will be busier than usual!
Patient Participation Group (PPG)
We would like to restart our PPG group and meet with a small group of representatives throughout the year to discuss how best we can provide a service to our patients, discuss NHS England updates and changes with the CCG. If you would like to join this group please send an email to patient.finchampstead@nhs.net.
Further details are on our PPG page on the website.
COVID
There have been a lot of questions around why we are still working differently. The pandemic is not over! We worked hard to provide a service throughout the lockdowns and continue to do so. To protect everyone, we must maintain safe infection control and minimise unnecessary physical contact. Most appointments with the Doctors are being triaged. This helps to keep you safe. We will see everyone in person who needs to be seen that way. If a member of staff tests positive with covid they are unable to come into work. This reduces the number of appointments we are able to offer and the number of staff able to take your calls. Please help to protect both us and yourselves by wearing a face mask when attending the surgery.
Our reception staff are a vital part of our health care team and ask questions to direct you to the best support. They are skilled in assisting with triaging of appointments and work to strict codes of patient confidentiality.
We are pleased to be able to include a range of professionals at the surgery including our Practice Nurses, Paramedics, Pharmacist, Physiotherapists and Social Prescriber who can diagnose and treat health conditions or sign post you to the correct service. This ensures that you see the right person more quickly rather than needing to see a Doctor.
Please be patient, we are under enormous pressure and have seen a rise of 30% in the demand for our service. Please continue to be kind to our staff, socially distance where possible and you must wear a face mask when attending a healthcare setting.
Thank you.
