Appointments

The surgery employs a policy of easy patient access to appointments and works to maintain access to a clinician within 24 hours or to any doctor within 48 hours. We provide a choice of different ways of consulting with a clinician and can offer doctor and nurse appointments at least four weeks in advance.

Patients are booked to see the doctor at 10 minute intervals. Please bear this in mind when making the appointment.

If you have a large number of problems to deal with, please discuss with the doctor whether you should come back for a further appointment at a different time.

Paramedic practitioner and nurse appointments

Our paramedic is trained to advise and treat children over 1 year of age and adult patients who have common minor ailment.

Our team of specialist practice nurses provide appointments for patients who require chronic disease reviews. These specialised appointments include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, hypertension and ischaemic heart disease (IHD), cervical smears and contraception.

Extended hours

  • Monday 6:30pm to 8pm
  • Tuesday – please contact the surgery
  • Saturday – we are open at least 2 to 3 Saturdays per month. Please contact the surgery

We acknowledge that there are patients who have work commitments outside our core hours and find it difficult to attend. To provide greater choice to these patients, the surgery offers additional face to face doctors’ appointments outside of its core hours.

If you think you may benefit from one of these appointments, please speak to reception who will advise the times available, which can include particular mornings, evenings and some Saturday mornings.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
